Law Preventing Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities

/1 July 2008/ One year cyclus of monitoring activities related to implementation of the Law Preventing Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities ended. The Project realization was carried up by the CUPS and its partner organizations as follows: the Youth Initiative for Human Rights, the Initiative for Inclusion VelikiMali, the Association of students with disabilites, Iz kruga (Out of Circle) and CHRIS network of Serbian Human Rights Committees.

At the conference three publications resulted from the Project activities with topics on discrimination of persons with disabilities, organizations of persons with disabilities and availabitility of facilitilies under public authorities were presented.

Speakers discussed about the Project, state obligation to prevent discrimination against persons with disabilities, as well as the content of printed publications.

At the conference were present CUPS coordinator, Sasa Gajin, Minister Assistant of the Ministry for Labor and Social Policy, Vladimir Pesic, lawyer from the NGO Iz kruga, Violete Kocic Mitacek, researcher of the Belgrade Institute of comparative law, Predrag Vukasovic, President of the Association of students with disabilities, Ljupka Mihajlovska and Board`s President of the Association, Nenad Minić.
